Getting Started
A couple of weeks before your organization is ready to launch an online fundraising campaign, please contact support@donationpay.org and submit a request for a campaign page to be built. While it only takes our developers 2-5 business days to complete a new page request, the extra week will give your organization time to make edits or changes to the page before your campaign begins.
After the campaign template page has been completed, please follow the directions below to set campaign specifications and add Peer-2-Peer fundraising pages.
Setting up the Campaign
1. Login to the client portal and click ‘Campaigns’ tab
2. Select the campaign of interest
3. Specify campaign name, description, goal amount, start date, end date, and whether the campaign is public
4. (Optional) By checking ‘Campaign is Public’ you agree to make campaign goals public. This is necessary for including the Campaign Widget on your website. Once this selection has been made ‘Get Campaign Widget HTML’ button will appear on the bottom right of the page. Provide the code to your web developer to add to your organization’s webpage.
How to Add Fundraiser Pages
1. Gather information: you will be in control of the creation of fundraiser webpages. To begin, you will need to collect the following information from your fundraisers
a) name
b) email
c) goal amount
d) personalized message for web page
e) thank you message
f) photo
2. In order to create a new fundraiser page, click ‘Create New Fundraiser Page’ button on the bottom right hand side of the page.
3. Enter the fundraiser’s information on the New Fundraiser page. With the exception of the fundraiser’s email, everything you enter here will be viewable on the fundraiser’s web page.
a) a complete email address for the fundraiser is required, this will be where your customized notification to the fundraiser will go when his/her page has received a contribution.
b) the page slug will be the unique identifier used to differentiate the fundraiser’s web page from the campaign web page. No two slugs can be the same within a campaign.
c) fundraiser Page Description and Fundraiser Goal Amount are also required fields
d) When you have finished, be sure to click ‘Save’!
4. After you press ‘Save’ the web page will refresh with:
a) fundraiser page. If clicked, the fundraiser page will open in a new tab
b) option for an image upload. Images in jpg, gif, or png up to 2mb are accepted. The image will be compressed and won’t take long to load, regardless of size.
c) Information on fundraiser progress.

How to Send Donation Notifications to Fundraisers
1. Go to ‘Campaigns’ tab and select campaign of interest.
2. Please fill in the subject and message under ‘New Payment Notifications to Fundraisers: this will be the notification sent by your organization to your fundraiser when his/her fundraising page has gotten a donation. The tag options shown below the ‘Message’ box will display the following information about the donor to the fundraisers. To use the tags, write whatever message you would like then add the tags (including both sets of brackets) in the text field.
Example of how to enter the tags in the field box:
Hello Adam Smith,

You are only {{remainder}} away from reaching your fundraising goal of {{goal}}! Thank you so much for your support and happy fundraising!
How it shows to the donor:
Hello Adam Smith,
Congratulations, John Doe has just donated $100.00 through your fundraising webpage! So far your page has raised $2,050 for Nonprofits of America. You are only $550 away from your fundraising goal of $2,600! Thank you so much for your support and happy fundraising!
Tag Key:
{{first}} first name of donor
{{last}} last name of donor
{{amount}} amount of donation
{{total}} total raised by fundraiser to date
{{goal}} fundraiser goal amount
{{campaign}} campaign name
{{remainder}} remainder of the fundraiser’s goal
Customization
You will be able to customize the campaign page just like any other DonationPay page. The page can include your organization’s main webpage toolbar, links, images, and messages. The customization will be extended to the fundraiser’s pages, so they will all have the look and feel of your main webpage.
Please note that fundraiser web pages are not further customizable than the information you provide in the ‘Create a New Fundraiser Page’ interface.
Thanks for choosing DonationPay’s Peer-to-Peer platform for your fundraising campaign!
